RINS (Immersion Grating Infrared Spectrograph) is a high-resolution (R~40,000), near-infrared (H and K simultaneously) spectrograph develophed by Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute  (KASI) and the University of Texas at Austin. It is being operated at the 2.7m telescope of the McDonald Observatory. Here we solicit poposals for the 2015 Trimester 2. Users can apply for the Guaranteed Time (GT) that KASI manages or for the open time of the McDonald Observatory. Note that the awardable GT is quite limited for 2015 Tri 2 and would not exceed 2 nights. KASI announces a proposal call for the tentative use of Korean time of EAO (East Asian Observatory, previously JCMT) before its main operation (possibly on June 1st, 2015) as follows. 1. Proposer qualification : Any researcher affiliated at Universities or institutes in Korea can his/her proposal 2. Dead line : Jan. 15, 17:30 KST, 2015 3. Submission to : eao_jcmt@kasi.re.kr 4. Proposal form : Please use a word file for your cover page as attached. But parts for Science & Technical Justification can be written with any editor. The Cosmic Dust meeting ed in 2006 as a session called “Cosmic Dust” of the 3rd AOGS (Asia-Oceania Geoscience Society) annual meeting in Singapore. Dust freaks have kept on organizing the session at subsequent AOGS meetings in Korea (2008), India (2010), and Taiwan (2011). The Cosmic Dust series has been recognized as the most successful session of the AOGS Planetary Sciences Section. In 2012, the time was ripe to be free from organizing restrictions on the AOGS meeting. From that time on, the Cosmic Dust meeting is totally independent of any international conference. The past meetings on Cosmic Dust have been held in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. The East Asian Young Astronomers Meeting (EAYAM) was first organized in 2003 to promote interaction and collaboration between young astronomers in East Asia. The success of the initial meeting in Taiwan was followed by EAYAM 2006 in Japan, EAYAM 2008 in China, and EAYAM 2011 in Korea. We are pleased to announce that EAYAM 2015 will once again be held in Taiwan, between Feb. 9-12, 2015, at the Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Academia Sinica (ASIAA). Postdocs and graduate students are encouraged to participate,  especially those who are either originally from, or currently work in the East Asia region. All participants are expected to give either an oral or a poster presentation to stimulate discussion and interaction. We are pleased to announce the workshop “Multi-Frequency VLBI Studies of AGN Core-shift Effect”. Measuring the effect of frequency-dependent core-shifts of AGNs using the Very Long baseline Interferometer (VLBI) at multi-frequencies provides a unique tool to study conditions at the central regions of AGNs. This two-day workshop aims to review theoretical perspectives and observational results about the AGN core-shift effect, and to discuss these issues and share the views including possible collaboration. Topics include: physical properties of jet opacity, VLBI astrometry, Radio-Optical reference frame and multi-frequency VLBI system. Radio astronomy has been playing an essential role in deepening the human understanding of the universe for recent 90 years, and in East Asian regions there have been a plenty of on-going radio astronomy activities both in observational astronomical research and technical development for future radio astronomy projects. UST-GUAS Radio Astronomy Winter School 2015, held on 10-13 February 2015 in Jeju Island in Korea, is planned to provide introductory courses of radio astronomy to undergraduate and master-course students, especially those who are interested in conducting future radio astronomy research in Asian countries. The main topics covered in the winter school are: Introduction to the radio astronomy world and the basics of radio observations Currently on-going and future radio astronomy projects, especially those related with Korea, Japan and East Asian Countries Science high-lights in the modern radio astronomy The winter school also includes tutorial/demo sessions for radio astronomy data analysis as well as the visit to the KVN Tamna 21m radio telescope. In order to support participations of young students, local expense in Jeju (including costs for hotel room, meal, and tour to the KVN telescope) will be provided by the sponsor institution (UST, Korea, and GUAS/SOKENDAI, Japan). Support to the flight may be provided (only partially), but the amount is dependent of the budgetary condition and it is subject to change. Due to the capacity limitation of the winter school venue, we expect that the maximum number of acceptable students is around 50.
