We present early results from a new radio AGN "single rung" cosmological distance measure that can measure distances up to high redshift. Many of the tantalizing hints of new physics in cosmology rely on combining different cosmological distance measures. A potential problem could be compounding errors, ultimately affecting final cosmological parameter measurements. Ideally, we could use an entirely independent "single-rung" method for measuring cosmological distances that operates across all redshift ranges. The Quasar Distance Elevator is the combination of a few related and internally self-consistent ways of measuring distances to quasars that rely on the 'Standard Speed-Gun' that uses the speed of light to calibrate a standard ruler. Archival and new observations as part of the QUOKKAS project have lead to the first preliminary 'single-rung' cosmological parameter estimation. The addition of observations of AGNs with VLBI detected counter-jets will further improve the method and will be an ideal use case for SKA-VLBI, ngVLA and a global-KVN.
