With significant VLBI science being produced with LOFAR international baselines in the Northern hemisphere, and with the advent of the SKA-LOW in the Southern hemisphere, we at CSIRO are uniquely positioned to establish the low-frequency VLBI capability in the Southern hemisphere. The Low frequency Australian Megametre Baseline Demonstrator Array (LAMBDA) is under development to accommodate for the shortfall of low frequency VLBI baselines in the Southern Hemisphere, and to establish the foundation for further low frequency VLBI development and science. LAMBDA is planned to be composed of up to six SKA-LOW like stations, containing 256 SKALA antennas in the same configuration as the SKA, spread out across the existing Australian LBA sites, and one site in the Northern hemisphere in Pyeongchang in South Korea. Low frequency VLBI is challenged by ionospheric interference, and the rarity of compact calibrators at the high angular resolutions, LAMBDA will address these challenges in the Southern hemisphere. These stations will enable a broad range of low frequency VLBI science, such as studying local pulsars and radio stars, transient event follow-up and host localization, AGN and high-redshift science. Additionally, LAMBDA stations will be able to conduct a myriad of single station science, such as all-sky map making (using the mmode transit interferometry technique), space situational awareness (SSA) through difference images of all sky observations, and 21cm cosmological measurements to name a few. The Korean LAMBDA station in particular will be uniquely situated to form baselines with Northern Hemisphere arrays such as the LOFAR core and international stations in Europe, or the OVRO-LWA in the SouthWestern Unites States. In this talk we focus on the low frequency science capable with a LAMBDA like system, both for VLBI science, and for a single stations.
